THE BENEFITS OF HAVING A GOOD CREW AND MODEL
greggcestaro.com When I found out we were gonna do a Vintage style shoot with Arianna, we all seemed to have the same ideas. Austin Stylist Joanna Wilkinson found some really great styles and accessories from SoLa, Adelante, Mana Culture, Amelia’s Retro-Vogue, and Megan Summervilles Lingerie. Keith Pattillo did a real nice job with warm, sultry make-up and hair. The nice location already had everything needed for a vintage, yet opulently vintage styled shoot. I had studio lights and did a couple of headshots and scenes with it but I opted to use halogen spots to give it that rich old-time look -mostly with the gold dress. The lingerie shots were available window lighting with spot lighting from the side for balance and an overall warm feeling – that lent itself to an old photo look. The other lingerie shot (sitting) was available light with post production into pin-up style. My fave the “fashion assassin” with samurai sword busting out of the pantry (ala kill bill) was flash lit high and shot lying down for dramatic effect. The hat shots were outside with reflectors. Post production varied for each image making each one somewhat different, especially the Coffee pic, which is kinda cool old-time advertising. Would like to add words to it at some point. Thanks to everyone for a great day!
