RON KING STYLE

SOME WORK DEVELOPING A STYLE PORTFOLIO

www.greggcestaro.net  This was a cool op working with Ron King on hair concepts with model Laura Ann at the Ron King Salon several weeks ago. Make-up was done by Maris Calderon. These were studio lit shots using pin-up lighting and huge side lit soft boxes in various configurations with a 50mm lens. Post included slight bumps in brightness and contrast, burn and dodge, and slight modifications in the CMYK channels.  Soft natural make-up lends itself to soft lighting and thus the above picture.  Conversely, more dramatic make-up leads to more dramatic lighting using a home-made beauty dish with directional lighting and a 50mm lens.  Many shots were taken during the shoot, and many made the final cut, but in the end these two had the best overall focus, lighting, model expression, and post production potential representative of the body of work from that day.  It is such a good productive experience to work with real creative people to produce a pretty product. With my Pentax  and new studio lights I can’t wait to work on another project especially on location. Between my older monolights and my new high power lights I should be able work in the f32 range. Not to mention HD fashion editorial video!
